Inspired by the work of Swiss intuitive healer, Emma Kunz, I created a healing mural at the Crying Room Gallery on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. In the 1940s Emma Kunz created geometric drawings that were used to diagnose and cure patients of medical ailments and imbalances. The potential for something aesthetic to effect change, led me to attempt to create a healing mural for the general public. The mural, which is both a document of research and a conduit for patterns of vibrational energy, is meant to inspire an awareness of place and collectivity in the public who view it.
