I explored the Emily Carr University Archive while in residence at Leeway studio. The archive is located in the school's library and consists of documents, publications, and photographs relating to the history of the institution. Dating back to the school's inception as the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts in 1925, the material in the archive depicts student artwork, classrooms, instructors, and campus life. In "I was Here" I began a process of collecting, organizing, transforming, and recreating selected archival images and anonymous artworks.
